IT Itch now offers customers the ability to protect their DNS data by adding digital signatures. DNS Security Extensions (DNSSEC) protect applications from using forged or manipulated DNS data by digitally signing data to validate it’s origin, ensuring that the end user is connecting to the actual address for a domain name. DNSSEC protects from some cyber crimes like man-in-the-middle and cache poisoning attacks and leads to increased trust for internet activities.
However, DNSSEC turns the simple process of updating DNS data into a much more complicated process and only the most experienced DNS operators will want to use this feature. Below is a screen shot of our control panel interface that DNS operators will see when wanting to manage DNSSEC features on their domain name. Please ensure that you are trained in DNSSEC implementation before trying to edit and update DNSSEC features on your domain.
DNSSEC is available for the following domains: .COM, .IN, .ME, .NET, .ORG
