Adding Additional Domains to a Multi-Domain Shared Hosting Account

Please complete these two simple steps to add additional domains to a multi-domain shared hosting account.

Step 1: Point your domain name towards your server

Add DNS “A” records pointing the domain name towards your server's IP address. You can find your server's IP address in your hosting management dashboard by going to “My Services” and clicking the “Active” button next to your web hosting account. At the bottom of the page you will see Point your Domain Name to your Hosting Plan using one of the options below”. Choose option 2 to reveal the IP address.

To add the DNS records. Go to “My Domains > Manage Domain > DNS Management”.

Step 2: Add a folder for the domain in cPanel

Open cPanel and go to “Addon Domains” in the “Domains” section (in some versions this will be called “Aliases”). Here you need to add your domain name and choose a folder where you wish to host the domain.

After these two steps are complete, your domain will only begin to resolve once the DNS has propagated through the internet (usually a few hours). If you have not added any content to the hosting folder you will see an error page when you visit the website.
